The first recipe of 2026!

We're two weeks into 2026 and for me, this year is already feeling a little different.

My 2025 concluded with an ADHD diagnosis and while it wasn't unexpected, it has helped me give myself a little bit of grace for struggling with consistency here on my blog. I'm entering the new year with new tools in my tool belt and new support systems and already things are feeling better than before.

I'm learning to set my own standards based on how my brain works, rather than setting myself to the standards of others. It's been a bit of a tough pill to swallow, but I'm already feeling more at ease.

And wouldn't you know it, I've got a new recipe and a couple more coming down the pipe to show for it! Crazy what happens when you start listening to what your body and mind actually need...

That being said, I hope you love these cinnamon sugar shortbreads - they're very nostalgic for me and inspired by a family recipe that I only get to enjoy once or twice a year.

This broiled cinnamon sugar shortbread recipe...

  • has a base of vanilla shortbread that is perfectly tender without being crumbly,
  • broils a buttery cinnamon sugar spread on top for caramelized sugar goodness,
  • and is the perfect sweet treat to share with friends.

As always, happy baking!

-Sierra

"Fantastic! I made these this morning because I had everything in stock. So yummy. The almond extract is a great addition. I shared a few with my neighbor who also rates them five stars."

Ways to Support Fickle Bea Bakehouse

First of all, if you're signed up for this newsletter, you're already supporting my blog in one of the best ways possible - thank you for being here!

If you're wondering how to further support my blog, here are some great places to start:

  1. If you try a recipe, leave a review (even if you didn't like how it came out - all feedback helps!). I know it sounds silly, but leaving a review helps a ton. If someone sees my recipe on Google and sees that it has at least one review, they're much more likely to engage with my site. The more reviews, the better! It builds trust with the reader and helps them know what to expect.
  2. Share recipes with your friends! If you like a recipe, feel free to share it with those in your circle who might also enjoy it.
  3. Follow along on social media. If social media isn't your thing, don't worry about this one!
  4. Leave me a tip with my virtual tip jar. Tips are never expected, but always appreciated!

I appreciate and am grateful for all of your support and love sharing my recipes with you!
